San Francisco Open Studios, a production of the nonprofit group ArtSpan, makes it possible to stroll through the studios of over 800 San Francisco artists on four October weekends, and see a wide range of works, including painting, sculpture, photography, prints, ceramics, glass, textiles, jewelry, furniture and installation art.

Many of the artists rely on Open Studios to expose their work to those who otherwise wouldn't see it. Much of the work is for sale, but the tour itself is free.
